You can call a resident or visit the residency website of the respective
hospital and read about the programme.
Interviews could be held in the morning or evening and is done in a relaxed manner.
Some hospitals do contuct pre interview dinners where you can discuss a lot about
the programme.
Interviews questions asked are mainly straight forward here. If you are an IMG be
prepared with your ERAS application form, remember what you wrote and what were your career plans.
Important issues like Visa, your family are frequently discussed as well.You may be
asked about your previous experience, hobbies, your electives and achievements.
Some hospitals conduct short tests before your interviews while other hospitals give
you clinical scenarios to discuss. Interviews are usually done by 2-3 members of the faculty and you are taken for a tour
around the hospital and encouraged to attend for the morning teaching rounds, afternoon conference etc. You are encouraged
to discuss about the call schedule, teaching activities, work atmosphere etc.
Some hospitals do encourage you to come for pre and post interview visits as well.For
Pre and Post interview visits you could dress up normally with a labcoat/apron

- Tell me about your research? (know details. i.e. data analysis, etc.)

- What is your greatest strength?
- What do you see as your biggest weakness?
- Why should we pick you?
- Do you have any questions? (Most common question!!! Have plenty of questions prepared. Well thought out. Nothing that you could learn by just looking at their website)
- Some hospitals tend to ask if you have any more interviews or not ?
You can also inform the programme that you are interested in prematch offers if any
and what your further plans are if questioned
After the interviews some programme directors may give their email ID and phone number
and you can write a thank you email to the faculty and programme coordinator.
