of the states but check with the individual states.Driving instructions can be found on www.mapquest.com
You need to sit for a theory examination( lasts 15-30
minutes) and then take driving module. The theory manual is provided by the DVM office. You need to have social security
number, utility bills, work permit( H1/H4 or student document), credit card etc to apply .

authority) office and apply.

depending on your experience.

If you are buying a used car never forget to
check report from carfax www.carfax.com . This is a report prepared by independent agencies about the all the cars individually. It gives history, accidents, ownership
etc
kelleys www.kbb.com or edmunds www.edmunds.com book value gives the approximate value of an old or new car.
If you are in UK
Common problem overseas doctors face
is driving in UK. The driving rules in UK are, however, similar to those in India. So its useful if you have experience of
driving in India. Its also useful if you have insurance in India as Your ‘No claims bonus’ will carry forward

Driving here is easier as roads are smoother
and majority follow the rules.
Driving licence has 2 components. Theory
and Practical. Theory books including Motorway signs books are available in leading
book stops or WH Smiths book shops on the high street in UK. It lasts around an hour costs around 35 pounds. Practical tests
consists of driving around for 30-45 minutes with the examiner. No short cuts, No bribing.
Once in UK driving licence forms can
be obtained from DVLA ( www.dvla.gov.uk) or From the local post office You have to submit your Passport along with the form for theory tests. Its essential
to take driving classes. They cost anywhere between 12-20 pounds a class. Booking in Bulk is cheaper.Atleast 10 classes are
needed
